Julio and his wife Jess have been residents of Eastvale since 2013. They have two children actively involved in Eastvale sports. Julio earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from California State University, Long Beach.
He served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. In 1998, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) where he worked at LAPD’s Southeast and Pacific Divisions. He later lateral to the Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD), where in 2013, he earned a promotion to Sergeant and in 2019 rose to the rank of Lieutenant.
As a Lieutenant, his current role involves overseeing the departments Detective Bureau, Mobile Field Force, Mounted Enforcement Unit and Ceremonial Detail.
Julio’s extensive experience and diverse range of assignments also include; Gang Enforcement, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Crisis Negotiation Team, Field Training Officer, Terrorism Liaison Program, Homeless Task Force supervisor, Traffic Administrative supervisor, Special Events supervisor, Crime Scene Investigators supervisor, Community Services Officer supervisor and as a Watch Commander.
Julio has been involved with Eastvale Little League as a coach, manager and board member, and as a board member for Eastvale youth football. Julio believes in the “Paying it forward” concept and to be a part of the City of Eastvale Public Safety Commission is a wonderful way to give back to the community and make positive impact on the lives of others.
