On Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, environmental mitigation work begins under the Hamner Avenue bridge, in the Santa Ana River bed and along Hamner Avenue in the project area. Work includes:
Installing environmental sensitive area fencing in the project area.
Installing netting under the bridge to prevent birds from nesting.
Clearing debris from the project area.
Removing trees and vegetation.
The work is necessary to prepare the project area for the first phase of construction and to deter birds from nesting in the construction zone. Additional pre-construction activities including staging machinery and placing signage will continue into January.
Traffic Impacts
Two travel lanes are expected to remain open during construction with possible traffic control and flagging if necessary. Traffic lanes are subject to close intermittently due to unforeseen construction circumstances or an emergency situation
Work Hours 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday Nighttime work may occur as necessary from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
