Historic Bell Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On October 10, 1889 one of the first officially established schools was built in Corona at the current Victoria ParkCNUSD Historic Bell Ribbon Cutting 8-29-13 location. The school was called "The South Riverside School," a little over a month after the opening of the school they welcomed a brand new bell into its tower. When the bell rang for the first time, everyone in town could finally receive communication all at once. Different ring patterns announced various events, such as church meetings, fire or other emergencies, along with the regularly scheduled notice, "time to come to school" (historic information from Dave Williamson).

In recognition of Corona-Norco Unified School District's 125th Anniversary, they  will be hosting an official ribbon cutting of the bell's permanent placement on August 29th at 4:30 p.m. at the district office!
