The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), in partnership with Caltrans, is investing $455 million to improve I-15 between Cajalco Road and State Route 60 (SR-60). The project will add two tolled express lanes in each direction on I-15 between Cajalco Road and SR-60, a distance of approximately 15 miles.
- Improve existing and future mobility along the I-15 corridor
- Reduce congestion and improve traffic operations
- Provide a time-saving travel choice with multiple entry / exit points
- Expand the tolled express lane network
- Increase travel time reliability
RCTC is proceeding with a design-build process to expedite delivery of the project, minimize construction costs, and take advantage of the existing 91 Express Lanes project experience.
Total Project Cost: $455,000,000
Funding: Tolls charged to I-15 express lane users will pay for a significant portion of the initial construction and all of the ongoing maintenance and operation of the express lanes. Local and federal funds will also be used to pay for a portion of the initial construction including Riverside County’s voter-approved Measure A transportation sales tax program.
