Public Works is responsible for constructing and maintaining the City's infrastructure which includes streets, traffic signals, storm drains, and traffic signs. Public Works ensures that our streets are safe and clean, traffic signals operate efficiently, respond to council and citizen complaints in a timely manner, as well as provide quality and responsive private development plan review.
The mission of the Public Works Department is to provide, maintain and operate a first-rate infrastructure to the City.
Public Works duties include:
Perform interagency coordination and administer Federal, State, and County funded projects and programs
Provide oversight and management of Capital Improvement Program and the Operations budget
Prepares cost estimates and plans for Capital Improvement Program
Conducts traffic studies to maintain safety
Maintains public streets, storm drains, and all traffic control devices
Works closely with Planning Department to process and approve private development projects
