RSO Press Release: Quality of Life Enforcement Operation
Members of the Jurupa Valley Station’s Eastvale Special Enforcement Team received multiple complaints from citizens and shopping center management regarding aggressive panhandling practices at several shopping centers in the city of Eastvale. The Eastvale Special Enforcement Team’s mission is to identify and respond to crime trends and investigate quality of life complaints from the citizens of Eastvale.
On August 2, 2017, around 1:00 PM, deputies assigned to the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team conducted an undercover operation at various shopping centers in order to identify and curtail illegal, aggressive panhandling of shopping center patrons. Deputies issued two citations as a result of this operation. Neither person cited was a resident of the city or homeless. These types of operations will continue within the city of Eastvale over the next few weeks in an effort to stop this activity.
The Jurupa Valley Station also hosts the Homeless Outreach Team for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, which concentrates on providing assistance and resources to the homeless in need.
